Hi Gang!
Hope everyone is recovering nicely from the Holiday rush, and your waistlines are decreasing appropriately!
Today’s post is devoted to the wonderful work of author, Sunnie Day!
Sunnie is a frequent contributor to Hubpages, but she also has a book out entitled: Sunnie and Her Peeps! It’s an adorable story, and if you have little ones in your life who enjoy reading or being read to, it’s makes a great gift!
Most of the story takes place on a farm, and the main set of characters include a little girl and a few handfuls of baby chicks in her care. The story is fictional, but contains a great deal of factual information, broken down very well for younger minds to understand easily. And, aside from that, I loved that the characters each have unique personalities and needs which affects how the little girl interacts with them.
I also loved that included in the adventure are some important lessons for little ones in regards to managing money, interacting with others, having a positive attitude, caring for others, and country life. Sunnie has a delightful method of sharing her knowledge with young minds, and she draws from personal experience to do it with. Sunnie is a retired nurse and much of her medial background was spent being a school nurse, as well as working in geriatrics. She's got her background covered with both young minds and the young at heart.
Sunnie has several other short stories available on Hubpages, and in my personal opinion, it's some of the most moving work I’ve ever had privilege of reading.
Unfortunately, Hubpages STILL hasn’t installed a “follow” option for their writers, allowing those writers' fans, who are not members of Hubpages, to be notified of new works available for reading as they're published. I find that to be frustrating and in poor performance on Hubpages part, and think fans should have the option of being notified, (please see the update in the comments section regarding a possible follow option, posted by Dusty - Fifty Caliber) at least via email, when a favorite writer has new work available. My voiced frustration hasn’t changed the Hubpages designers’ minds in regards to adding the option. So, I’ll continue to fuss about it until they make the change.
I’ve included some links for you, and hope you’ll find some time to be as blessed with the shorter works of Sunnie Day as I have. Her stories are magnificent, and easily read when one has only small spaces of time to indulge in literature.
A bit more about Sunnie's background, I once more have the privilege here of supporting the work of Veterans and their loved ones. She was born into a U.S. military family, married a veteran, and has spent a great deal of her life on military installations. She's a Christian, a farmer, a nurse (once a nurse, always a nurse), a writer, a mother, a grandmother, and a spectacular friend. Sunnie was also one of the first who befriended me when I began writing for Hubpages and continues to be a blessing there to many writers in supporting their work. Although she's retired from nursing, Sunnie still maintains an incredibly busy schedule, yet, she is constantly taking the time to read the work of her colleagues in the literary world, as well as leaving comments of encouragement and insight when they've published new work. Her interaction, support and genuine friendship is more valued than I can manage to express, and the inspiration I've gained from reading her work continues with each new piece she produces.
For many Christian writers, a great deal of the hope they wish to accomplish with their work is to move and change the reader on a spiritual level. Sunnie does it, without fail, every single time. An elite example of this is one of my personal favorites of her work, entititled: The Man in the Blanket. (Yes, if you click the name of it, it will take you right to the story. *wink*) It's a three-part series, and the links to each part are available in the content. Furthermore, just a heads up for those of you short on change, it costs nothing to read Hubpages publications; all of the literary publications there are free to read.
Sunnie is also a poet, and though poetry is not on my top-ten list of favorite things to read, she is quite accomplished with poetry and has a large amount of work in this genre available on Hubpages as well.
To view a list of Sunnie's work on the Hub, scroll down to the bottom area of her profile. If you click on the "more" option, the entire list of her works available there will show up for you. Or, you can pick one from the smaller, categorized selection at the bottom of the page. Other links to her various work is also available on her Hubpages profile as well.
That's it for this post, and my sincere thanks to you for reading it. If you'd like to add a comment, please feel free to do so in the comments section at the bottom of this post. I also encourage you to leave a comment for Sunnie on her Hubpages work. Please let her know what a great job she's doing. :)
Hope you're having a wonderful week and hope you enjoy Sunnie's literature! If you do, please take the time to leave her a comment. Readers' comments are part of the wonderful fuel that helps keep the fire burning bright in the heart of the writer, so, I'll thank you ahead of time for doing it!
God bless, stay safe, and please don't forget to find the time to thank a U.S. Veteran!

Nee,
My advice is sit with a cup of coffee or tea, and give her stuff a good hour.
You won't be disappointed. She has a superb collection of short stories and poetry on Hubpages.
Thanks so much for checking it out!
Ange,
the answer for notifications is just add Sunnie to the Google RSS feed I use it and it's not instant but pretty quick.
You got my number so give me a shout if you dont get it. I just added you to mine, dusty
Nevada Smith,
Awwww ... looky there. One of my favorite Marines has graced my weblog.
Thank you Mr. Smith, I'm thrilled!
Thanks for the tip on the RSS feed as well. I'd forgotten all about that!
Aye, there young lady! Nevada was a bug and I think I finally got him with the windshield and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the guts to do it twice, LOL

Dusty,
I gotta admit, I'm rather liking the name of Nevada Smith, lol!
It sounds both smooth and gritty, if that makes sense! (Grin!)
I hope his demise was painless.(Wink)

Good Morning Sunnie Girl!
Thank you for stopping by for a read, and your highlight was totally my privilege.
However, in skimming through it again ... good grief! It's amazing how many errors I manage to miss when proofing my own content. I found several in this post that I'm hoping the readers either didn't notice, or chalked up to eye-strain, lol.
I was thrilled to get to write it and let folks know who Sunnie Day is, and very happy you liked it.
I've been out of commission with Hub articles and weblog posts for about a month, but as the song says, "Come Monday, it'll be alright" ...
Come Monday, I'll have a new post, lol.
God bless, take care and thanks so much for the read!
