Eyes Wide Shut: An Enigma - A Quick Introduction To Dallas Thompson

I was recently informed that I've been lax, and my blog is getting dusty.  Therefore, my apologies to my readers and I'm making an attempt at correction.

(Thank you for the heads-up, Lethal.  Happy to see your doing a great job with that side-line hobby of yours called 'blog policing.'  I would have guessed it was you from all the gold-dust and shamrocks you left lying about on the furniture.)

The Lethal Leprechaun
My apologies to the Lethal Leprechaun of Dragon Laffs for upsetting his allergies  when he stopped by for a visit.  Obviously, there IS such a thing as a delicate jarhead.  But, now that the dust and glitter have been swept away, hopefully, your respiratory issues will improve when your out patrolling.
Impish Dragon

As for his partner in crime, the Impish Dragon, I've heard he is under the weather, and therefore hope he stays away from my blog until he's recovered.  One, I've no idea what rude content he might come up with when he's feverish and possibly in a grouchy mood.  Two, spreading the love is over-rated when folks have the flu.

Seriously, I hope he and his family are on the mend soon.

And, now that I've come through with the feather duster and vacuumed, and things are getting back to rights again in here, thought I'd let you know that the guys did a wonderful job on the Veterans Day Issue of Dragon Laffs.  They really did.  Dragon Laffs is in my list of top-five resources for non-liberal-biased media and these fellas put the issues together at no cost to the readers.  I'd rather read one of their editorials any day that any of the fluff and puff produced on the tele.  Yes, that includes FOX with it's RINO entertainment staff.

I'm not even gonna get started on the talk radio hosts.

Dallas Thompson
Author and Veteran  - U.S.A.F.
Past all the fussing about our wonderful liberal media, who reports what they want, rather than the actual news, I'd also like to let everyone know that Mr. Dallas W. Thompson has a new release of (no kidding) one of the most impressive stories I've ever read in the lines of fiction blended with fact.  I'd explain further what I mean by that description, but you really should simply read it and you'll understand.  The book is titled Eyes Wide Shut: An Enigma.  Dallas is a writer on Hubpages, as well as wearing a whole lot of other hats.  He's got an impressive array of accomplishments in his background.

I expected his book to be good, but I didn't expect it to be good to the extent that he delivered.  I was past impressed with the content, and that's STILL an understatement.

Book Cover for
Eyes Wide Shut: An Enigma
Dallas is a U.S. Veteran, as are the writers for Dragon Laffs, so, you know how it is.  I'm going to plug and promote a U.S. Veteran's work in every spot I can find on the web that I'm allowed to type in.  But, rest assured, I've never been misleading in my reviews, and not planning to start now.  When I say Eyes Wide Shut: An Enigma is good, I'm not even slightly kidding.

I've been in a time crunch the last several days, as Lethal so aptly noted in the comments section of one of my previous blogs here.  Therefore, I've not yet written a formal review on Mr. Thompson's book.  However, I will have one completed shortly.  I didn't want to do Mr. Thompson the injustice of writing a review when I've not had enough sleep and not be able to give the sharp attention to it that it deserves.  And, it's VERY deserving.

In the meantime, if you'd rather not wait, and I do hope you'd rather not, it's available for download on Amazon. That's right, just click the word and it will take you right to it.  I do try to help you keep your mouse-maneuvering to a minimum.

A great deal of effort has gone into this work in regards to research, not to mention the time involved, as well as creativity in making us aware of things the powers that be would absolutely rather us NOT be aware of.  But, where there's a will, there's usually a way, and Mr. Thompson's will was apparently fueled by a great deal of patriotic passion.  The end result is this phenominal work of literary art that I would recommend, or even URGE, everyone to read.

It's been a long night.  If you drive a Beamer, you have my sympathies.  If you drive a Beamer and get rude with your online assist agent .... I'm not even going to type what I think of you.  I will only say that what I'm thinking isn't nice.

If I had to choose between which to drive, I'd pick my folks 1993 Ford dually over the Beamer any day, hands down.  And, for those of you shopping for new vehicles .... FYI, FORD didn't take the U.S. Federal Bailout (thank you so much Mr. Bush for shaking down your constituents ... great way to represent We The People in such a RINO-Republican fashion.  Way to go in your phenominal expression of socialism at it's finest!)

That's it.  Rather than ranting, I'll just sit and smolder for a while.

And since I have a personal policy to not end my weblog on a bad note ... gimme a minute while I come up with a good note, please ....

 .... thinking .....

.... still thinking .....

Ok, here's my good note.

We've just passed another Veterans Day, and celebrated another birthday of my much loved United States Marine Corps.  Hoorah and Semper Fi!

I'm in hopes that at each opportunity given, when you cross paths with a U.S. Veteran, you'll say thank you.  If you're an American, a great deal of what you have to be thankful for is because of what they and their loved ones sacrifice.

Doesn't matter if they're young and in great shape, or if they're old and walking with a cane, they've earned our thanks.  Please be mindful of that, not just this week, but every single day.

God bless our Vets!  Read Dallas Thompson's book!  And, thank you for stopping by!

If you'd like to leave a comment, knock yourself out.  If it's rude, I'll sick the rebuttal police on you.  They're smart and crafty.  I advise to just keep it nice and not mess with them.

For the record it wasn't the dust and allergies it was the hoard of attacking dust bunnies every time I popped in here to look around!

They seemed to have at some point mated with the Rabbit from Monte Pythons Holy Grail making for extremely NASTY DANGEROUS dust bunnies! I was going thru a fortune in Endust every time I came in for a look around!

Sorry Lethal,

I purchased the bunnies on a trial basis from the U.S. Military. They're trained to attack via your respiratory system, and out maneuver blog-police during episodes of severe sneezing.

Easily defeated with Endust grenades and anti static strips

Lethal,

I'll have a retort for that ... sooner, or later ...

Probably later.

I can't wait to read this book, is it in bookstores yet or just amazon ? I like real bookstores as you know . And what kind of bookstore do I go , Vinyard or Barns and Nobles ? Maybe I should finish the other ones I am reading first. His book cover intrigued me ! It was the eyes I need to find out what lurks behind them.

Nee,

It's available in paper print now, I think. But, I'll check his website to be sure and get back with you.

It's a great book, you'll love it!

Nee,

You have no idea how relieved I am to hear you don't read Harlequin, lol.

I've just been informed there is a downloadable version of Eyes Wide Shut: An Enigma available on Smashwords.

So, if you've got an independent Kindle, or one on your pc/notebook/mobile phone ... there ya go.

Speaking of the cover, I have to admit ... I would pass up a book and not even give it a quick browse through simply because I didn't like the cover.

That's probably not a good thing because, as the saying goes, "Never judge a book by it's cover" but, I do exactly that, lol.

Dallas (or whomever picked the artwork for this cover) did a great job. It's intriguing, and if I'd seen it in a pile of books on a table, it would have stood out enough and looked interesting enough to get my attention.

That being said, for those who read my blog that are writers, and heading towards publication ... covers are important whether it's on a physical book, or an e-book. If it doesn't look interesting, it might cost you some sales.
